Klitschko vs. Solis

TV-MA 2011

On Saturday, March 19th in Cologne, Germany WBC no. 1 rated heavyweight Odlanier Solis lost in the first round against champion Vitali Klitschko due to a serious knee injury. "La Sombra" was brought to the hospital directly after the fight with an anterior cruciate ligament rupture, articular cartilage damage and a  meniscal tear in the right knee. Solis will most probably undergo surgery on Thursday, March 24th at the clinic of knee specialist Dr. Jürgen Eichhorn, who was recommended to Solis by Prof. Walter Wagner, head of the German boxing commission's medical department. If the knee surgery goes on as planned, Solis will be able to start rehab training immediately and be ready to fight again in six to nine months. "Hopefully against Vitali again", states promoter Ahmet Oner.

Klitschko vs. Solis originated from the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany, which sold out in minutes after tickets went on sale in January.
